The Patchogue Theater for Performing Arts

The Patchogue Theater for the Performing Arts is the largest theater in Nassau and Suffolk Counties. Originally designed as an art deco vaudeville theater in 1923, this theater was in converted into a Cineplex in the early 1970’s which divided the mezzanine and first floors into 4 theaters. After becoming an abandoned building in the mid 1980’s, the presiding mayor of the Incorporated Village of Patchogue in 1995 moved forward to appropriate funds to restore this facility to its original grandeur which included an entirely new entry and vestibule.

The design is art deco with the various finishes (black lacquer and 24 karat gold leaf column capitals, mahogany moldings and alabaster chandeliers.
